Michigan has a lot of fine links style programs carved through lowlands (and highlands) looking over the inland seas known as the Great Lakes. Although its name, The Links At Water Erie is not one. The only views you will get at this course are of overhead power facial lines, an RV campground, railroad tracks and then a truckstop. It is clearly a former farmstead became a course.
Links at Lake Erie was made in 1988, and designed just by Michigan based architect Scott Thacker. Thacker also designed Fox Hills' Lakes and Woods courses and New Hudson's Coyote Club set.
The layout is completely flat, save for several mounding and elevated green vegetables. Links at Lake Erie is most of the time wide open, and a wayward shot won't be too costly unless you land in one of several ponds. Water comes into play on twelve with the holes. A couple of dozen bunkers —almost on greens—are the course's various defense. However, the fronts for the greens are all offered, so landing a shot short and allowing it to bound up is the safe play in a low score. Once with, the greens putt directly and true.
In all of, the layout was not that interesting opinion. Hit the ball. Attack the ball again. Putt. I didn't realize it forced many judgements or risk assessments.

Conditions on the day I played game me the impression that management was undecided on whether to carry on to operate as a the game of golf, or allow it to send back to use as a cow pasture. There was a good amount of mowed grass, but the fairway and rough boundaries cant be found always clear. I also found a lot of wet, soggy areas.
If you live in the market, this might be a plan to play on occasion. I cannot, however, propose that anyone seek it out and about.
