2013 MLB Rookie in the Year Stock Watch, Week 5.

When ever Arizona's Adam Eaton went down with an elbow injuries in spring training, Shelby Miller became a pick for NL Rookie for the Year for two reasons. First, and most evident, he had a job taken from spring training. Playing time is kind of something useful when handing out honours.

It is safe to speak about that after just a couple of weeks, Miller has exceeded even just about the most optimistic projections. He had a skills of four straight commences when he struck out at the very least six hitters. He has thrown six innings or higher in four of your partner's six starts.

While I don't expect Miller to have a 3. 5-1 strikeout-to-walk relative amount all season, his stuff is sufficiently good to average a minumum of one punchout per inning, and he stays inside the zone enough to force hitters to include the ball in enjoy.

The Cardinals have some rash of hard-throwing right-handers with the high levels of that minors or recently promoted for the big leagues (Miller, Trevor Rosenthal, Carlos Martinez), but Miller will likely be the best of your bunch.
