by Luke Cawdell Michael RichardsonAhas been offered the opportunity to extend his stay at Gillingham and chef Martin Allen will soon be wanting he accepts. The young Newcastle United player (right )Ahas appeared twice for the Gills since signing on loan from the Premier League club per month ago. His Gills introduction got a week ago, as an additional half alternative against Plymouth, having being an unusued sub in the earlier four matches. On Tuesday he was not within the matchday group but came in on Saturday, against Morecambe, and enjoyed the initial 45 minutes. And although his performances have been temporary, Allen is hoping he remains on at Priestfield. "I could have a talk with him," he explained. "I wish to hold him. I do believe he's an excellent lad and he works hard. "I thought he played well (on Saturday). I'd have kept him on but we needed to pursue an objective and there clearly was no greater time than at half-time to (make the change) if we had been successful. "I hope he really wants to stick with us. I do believe it will be great for him. I always knew he would be enjoying in this game, with four games in 10 times I knew I was going to be rotating these midfield participants as a result of the running they've to do and with the way in which we play, "I am hoping he can remain and I will have a talk with his mum and dad as well and workout what are planning to do."
