His successor Michael Laudrup guided the Swans to their first-ever major trophy with victory over Bradford last Sunday — while Liverpool have no chance of winning any silverware this term.
"In that period of time I believe, along with the board, that we can make real good progress here and nothing has changed my mind on that.
"We hope to put that ambition in place that can allow us to go forward and hopefully get trophies at the end of it."
