I'm always searching for easy, no-fail strategies that will me when my following tennis doubles match. And I'll bet you will be too. So here's a "retro" Tennis Fixation post within the past reminding you of an good one that almost always works – pick on the weak link!
You know that one of the more basic doubles strategy should be to "pick on the weak link" – ascertain which of your a couple opponents is worse and hit to him or her again and again. While this course alone may not gain the match, it is commonly a big component of enhances success.
The time to get started looking for the fragile link is, of lessons, during the warm-up. So recently, I played a match where my wife and i had warmed-up and after that discussed who we thought was the weaker of the opponents. We had decided which both women were really consistent and we wouldn't necessarily pick on one. As the match was wearing on, I found myself establishing rallies at the net with among the list of two women – the one who was taller, played the online more aggressively and gained most everything back. Lastly, thank goodness, my partner asked me, "Why are you hitting to her? One another one's a lot weakened. Hit to that one! "
Oh yeah! Pick in the weak link! I had not only forgotten that strategy, I was actually engaging in a one-on-one battle while using better player!
The lesson – even though you don't see that weak link early inside match doesn't mean truth be told there isn't one. The warm-up doesn't reveal everything. Lots of players are great at suffering from the motions of a warm-up. But then they typically come up to the online during the match. Or they get used up and suddenly aren't so great. So constantly be speaking with your partner and in need of that weak link. When your partner keeps hitting to your stronger player, by all means tell her to stop doing that!
