The past month has been very interesting for UFC middleweight Chris Camozzi. Just fourteen days after his win over Nick Ring at UFC 158 in Montreal, Camozzi got the call to step in on short notice to face Ultimate Fighter: Brasil champion Cezar "Mutante" Ferreira at UFC on FX 8 in Brazil. Literally only days later, nevertheless, Ferreira was out because of injury and Camozzi was facing Renzo Gracie's scholar Rafael Natal on the card instead. With teaching time winding down and a vacation to Brazil just around the corner, Camozzi left his workout Thursday night feeling great, and then, he noticed he had several missed calls waiting for him on his mobile phone. "I was in the gymnasium yesterday evening when I was done teaching and I visited my locker to get changed and I'd five missed calls from my director Jason (Genet) and I'd a few from Jordan, yet another man on my management staff so I knew something was up," Camozzi told Bleacher Report.A "So when I talked to Jason he said are you wanting the good news or the bad news first?A So I said give me the bad newsa'and he said properly your fight's off." "I was bummed at first but I think he needed to set me up just a little bit.A So I figured the good news was perhaps they were going to pay me or something for taking all these fights.A He was just like the good news is you are fighting in the co-main event against (Ronaldo) "Jacare" (Souza ).A From the comfort of there I was pumped, it took two seconds to say yes." Souza was established to compete in the co-main event on the card against fellow top-10 fighter Costa Philippou, but a damage forced him out of the round and that's when Camozzi got the decision. With four wins in a row, Camozzi has been itching to check himself from the top practitioners in the middleweight division, but he only hasn't landed those matchupsa'until now. "It is some thing I have been asking for with each gain, asking to fight someone in the top and show in there," Camozzi said.A "I am more than pleased to take the opportunity." that I belong On as a sizable favorite paper, Souza will enter the struggle at UFC on FX 8. Souza is a Strikeforce middleweight champion and is known throughout the MMA business as one of the most destructive grapplers in the sport.A While this struggle will undoubtedly be his UFC debut, Souza has significantly more than confirmed herself already and can jump right in the thick of the subject search in a few of fights. So it is not surprising that Camozzi recognizes that the entire world expects this fight to be lost by him. "As far as I'm concerned I have anything to gain and nothing to lose," Camozzi commented.AA "Nobody wants me to win this struggle and that is the way I prefer it.A I love being the underdog.A I always pull out wins when I am the underdog and people are against me.A So I always perform better under that sort of pressure.A With a I gain everything.A There's nothing more harmful than fighting somebody with nothing to lose." Experiencing a like Souza on short notice is really a difficult task but one Camozzi accepted with eyes wide open.A He knew the time the name was heard by him exactly what sort of qualifications the Brazilian brings to the dining table, especially if the fight hits the floor. Camozzi is very confident after preparing for the past weeks to face a surface fighter in Natal that the switch to Souza will not put a massive monkey wrench into his game plan. "The way I look at it, Jacare's a bigger, tougher, better Rafael Natal," Camozzi said.A "I was training to not just hang with Natal, but to dismantle him.A So I have been training for a, better Natal anyway so it sort of drops into my training.A The game plan doesn't change too much." The expectations starting UFC on FX 8 are that Souza may reign supreme and present himself to a new audience of fans clamoring for top middleweight competitors to eventually confront the king of the division Anderson Silva. Camozzi is happy to disappoint everyone and snatch Souza's first win from him while positioning herself for an area on the list of best of the best at 185 pounds. "Jacare's in the most effective 10 and no one expects me to win this struggle. Many people don't think I can," Camozzi stated.A "I set a make an impression on him and I think I'm planning to shock lots of people."
