Newcastle United are making their French recruits welcome. Source: AAP Football fans have cheekily known Alan Pardew's spending spree as his 'French Revolution' at Newcastle United. However it seems the membership has embraced its new modern group mix and taken the joke to the next stage - with the Toon Army enjoying Le Newcastle United by virtually painting St James' Park red, blue and white. With Yohan Cabaye, Moussa Sissoko, Hatem Ben Arfa, Yoan Gouffran, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Romain Amalfitano, Massadio Haidara, Gabriel Obertan and Mathieu Debuchy all in the team, they were made more than welcome with a rendition of the French national anthem La Marseillaise enjoyed before kick-off. Supporters looked dapper wearing while Geordie folk song aBlaydon Racesa was sung in French, berets that have been handed out round the floor. The feel-good French message even went in terms of their competitors Southampton -Awhose Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin's error opened the scoring for the home part on 3 minutes.
