Yaya Toure has signed a new four-year deal for Manchester City that will keep him contracted to the Etihad Stadium until 2017.
Manchester City have been given a silver lining to their cloud of a season after Yaya Toure signed a new four-year deal with the club.
The Ivorian midfielder has been one of the key players at the club since joining from Barcelona, and was instrumental in their title win last season.
Recent reports had suggested that he was disenfranchised with life at the Etihad Stadium, but he has now reaffirmed his commitment to the club.
Yaya Toure discussed his new contract on the club's official website, saying: "I will never forget how I have been treated here by the fans, the club and the owners and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to finish my career as a Manchester City player.
"I want to continue winning titles and trophies and continue to make history. I have enjoyed all of my time here and can't wait for the next chapter."
