I am aware there is a lot of hoopla about the Masters this week and whoas planning to win, etc. We, needless to say, do know Tiger is the tennis betting beloved with Titan Bet to get his fifth Green Jacket at Augusta but, besides that, I recently found something I thought you could be enthusiastic about. A Iave been getting more in to Tai Chi lately. Maybe not specifically for golf.AI was just interested in the aslowing downa part of the training and just the physical beauty of it. But, the more I exercise the more I could see its advantages a health, mindfulness, exercise, yoga a itas all there. A In the event that you donat know what Tai Chi is, itas identified as: aa Chinese system of slow hypnotic physical activity designed for balance and peace and health.a A Today this isnat the first time I have discussing fighting techinques and golf. I wrote an article many years ago called: aAlternativea Golf Power Using Fighting Techinques a http://golfdashblog.com/alternative-golf-power-martial-arts/ soAwould say this is still another facet of that talk. A I have never really practiced Tai-Chi before but I reached a Gong Master who suggested a form of Tai-Chi named aSilk Reelinga and said (didnat really say HOW long) it would completely transform your round of golf if practiced long enough. He said he'd noticed it, many, many times. Needless to say, I was immediately interested. A He recommended a specific DVD (that I will list below). Let me just tell you itas a whole lot harder than you believe it is. But it does get easier the more your practice. Iam only on the very first group of forms but my breathing and movements are starting to match more and more. The internal power ( Chi ) building can be almost felt by you. A And, believe it or not, you really get a serious good work out, particularly your feet as all the activities are initialized from the ground. Hmmmmmm, been there as well. It also shows you how to relax your system while shifting a' again, perhaps not as easy as it looks. A But back to the original purpose of this article. I was reading an older tennis forum and found some video of Hogan I've never seen before. It absolutely was strange. He was showing a pal of his one way he practices a in slow motion. A It really looks like a slow motion movie feet are gone about 15 by it and until the ball is hit by Mr. Hogan, once you view it. But I was unaware how frequently he did this slow movement practice. It ties completely to Tai Chi and is a wonderful solution to exercise since it makes you immediately aware of the body moves. Like Tai Chi it can help you sense regions of tension or Chi blockage in your move. It creates you acutely alert to how your golf swing actions move together. A But, you understand, nobody desires to slow down. Every one just desires to pound balls at the product range with the greatest (or best) driver they can expect and find quick results. The art of Tai Chi goes just the contrary of that. It *intentionally* forces one to decrease. To really empty your brain and you should be alert to your system, balance and breathing. A I think Ben Crenshaw used to rehearse this too. Of so Iam not surprised at all course he was tied in with Hogan and his teacher Harvey Penick. A Therefore decide to try the slow movement practice. Itas one of those items that appear so clear but itas the last thing you may think of trying. In my experience, anything the truly amazing Hogan did to practice and improve is really worth, at the very least, trying.
